Attention Juniors: If you have not signed up to take the PSAT, please do so as soon as possible. You can pick up a review book when you sign up in the College and Career Office. The PSAT is required for all juniors and there is no fee.

 

Juniors and Seniors interested in attending the TC-3 College Fair on October 14 should pick up permission slips in the College and Career Office. The deadline for returning your permission slips is October 1st.

 

Students, would you like to learn more about the Real Estate Industry? Students from the Cornell Real Estate Club will be here Tuesday, October 7th, during lunch periods to give an overview of commercial real estate and opportunities in the field. Sign-up in the College and Career Office.

 

 Are you thinking about college? Wondering what you need to do when?  Do you have questions about which tests to take, how to ask for recommendations, or where to go for information about colleges? Are you wondering about how to apply early decision and/or early action? Come to the informative session on Tips for Applying to College, led by Student Services Department leader Stephen Jones October 7 from 6-7 p.m. in York Lecture Hall.  Mr. Jones will provide helpful information about applying to college and will answer your questions.  Refreshments will be provided by the IHS PTA.  Students and parents/guardians are all welcome - hope to see you there!

Perhaps the problem seems too daunting but in the IHS Green Team we are committed to solving the problem. Come to Green Team’s first meeting, today in Mr. Johnson’s room, H-104 to see what it’s all about and have some treats!

Come by H-206, Ms. Gefell’s room, today, after school for our first meeting. We’ll have a guest speaker who’ll talk about some interesting volunteer opportunities, and we’ll have food.

The IHS Model United Nations Club will be holding its first meeting today! Model UN is a chance to learn more about world politics, engage in debate on world issues, and polish your speaking skills. At our first meeting, we will discuss Model UN field trips and conferences, procedure, and benefits. There will be snacks. Come to F5 today to learn more!

 

Seniors -- fall applications for the National Honor Society are now available in the main office for those who didn't apply to NHS in the spring. They are due Sept 19th, so pick yours up today.

You will also see a demo of a new personalized Internet radio system that is currently being developed at Ithaca College.   Everyone is welcome.  This evening from 5:30-6:30 pm in H courtyard.

Auditions for the IHS Fall Drama Kurt Vonnegut’s Welcome to the Monkey House, are today from 7 to 9 p.m. All are welcome to take part in this hilarious, off-the-wall satire. Sign up on the drama bulletin board opposite the BLACK BOX Theatre.

Are you interested in spending a year in another country as an exchange student?  The information session for Rotary Youth Exchange Program will be held today at 3:45 in G205.

Ping Pong Club organizational meeting will be Monday, September 15 in H-111, after school. Come and join in the fun! We will decide what days to meet and start playing! So if you like ping pong, come to this meeting! Monday in H-111, or see Mr. Slattery anytime!

Do you want to be an Olympian? Do you like science? If you said yes to these questions, come learn about Science Olympiad Monday the 15th in H-114, after school.

Need binders, pencils, folders, notebooks, lined paper? Stop by the Family Liaison’s room in the main office for free used school supplies! You can stop in at any time and take your pick from the selection along the right wall! Go green and use a recycled binder!

On Thursday the 18th, the IHS Model United Nations Club will be holding its first meeting! Model UN is a chance to learn more about world politics, engage in debate on world issues, and polish your speaking skills. At our first meeting, we will discuss Model UN field trips and conferences, procedure, and benefits. There will be snacks. Come to F5 on the 18th to learn more!

Do you believe in gender equality? So do we! Come to the first meeting of SWIS (Strong Women Impacting Society), Monday September 15th after school in F5 across from the library. All genders are welcome! Snacks will be provided. See ya there!

Auditions for the IHS Fall Drama Kurt Vonnegut’s Welcome to the Monkey House, are Monday, September 15 from 4:30 to 6:30 and Tuesday, September 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. All are welcome to take part in this hilarious, off-the-wall satire. Sign up on the drama bulletin board opposite the BLACK BOX Theatre.

Seniors -- fall applications for the National Honor Society are now available in the main office for those who didn't apply to NHS in the spring. They are due Sept 19th, so pick yours up today.
