Auditions for this year's musical Mary Poppins are coming up soon. If you are interested in auditioning, bring a parent or guardian to one of two informational meetings on either Monday November 2nd or Wednesday November 4th from 7:00-8:30 in the chorus room in “A” building. Check out the flyers around school for more details. We are always looking for new talent, so even if you've never been on stage before, come check it out!

 

Winter Sports begin soon!  Sports forms can be obtained on the wall outside the Nurses' Office and are due by Friday, November 6.  You must also have had a physical exam within the past year.  Check with the Health Office immediately if you are not sure you have had one.

 

Today after school outside of Bliss gym, Key club and SWIS club are hosting a bake sale for breast cancer research. See you there!

 

HEY HEY HEY IHS submit your Halloween photos to the yearbook for a cash prize email them to ithaca.yearbook@gmail.com.  All book worthy photos received before winter break will be entered into a contest, the top photographers will win cash prizes.

Put silver coins in your grade and use pennies to sabotage other grades. The winning class will receive a prize.

It's a hurricane...it's a tornado...no, it's just the second annual IHS Music Department Collage Concert, this Wednesday at 7:30pm in Kulp Auditorium. This year's theme is "Forces of Nature". Come hear the whirl-WINDS and percussion, the SOARING strings, and the cloud-bursting choir...we hope to give you reason to offer THUNDEROUS applause!

Today is a very special day in chemistry classes around the country, because it is the day that we celebrate that famous chemistry concept know as THE MOLE! A mole is an ENORMOUS number, specifically equal to 6.02 x 1023, which is why it is celebrated from 6:02 am until 6:02 pm on the 23rd day of the 10th month of the year! To celebrate this SUPREMELY IMPORTANT CONCEPT, a dozen moles have been hidden around the school today- if you find one, follow the directions on it to claim your prize! Happy Mole Day!

The Fractals and Chaos fall fractal art show will be opening in G-hallway 5th period today. Alumni to the program and staff are invited to the 5th period opening celebration in room G-102 or can stop by any time afterwards to pick up a ballot to vote on your favorite designs.

Representatives from the following colleges will be visiting IHS today: Savannah College of Art and Design at 8:55, Rochester Institute of Technology at 9:45, University of Vermont at 10:37, Hamilton College at 11:25 and Columbia University at 12:15. If you’d like to meet with any of these reps, please get a pass from Ms. Sullivan in the main office.
