 Interested in student leadership? If you would like to run for Representative to the Board, Student Council officer, or class officer for next school year, you are invited to attend an elections meeting on Wednesday, May 4th at 3:45 in H Courtyard. It is mandatory that you attend this meeting if you want your name on the ballot during elections. Please contact Mr. Mellander in Activities if you have any questions. 

 

Do you want to eat and improve your community at the same time? Go to College Town Bagels any time this week through Saturday, April 23 and order the sandwich called “The Key to Your Stomach” to help support IHS Key Club (also known as Community Service Club).

 

It’s time to clean out your closet! Student Council is running a winter clothing drive with local charities for those in need next winter. Bring any old or unused clothing to the collection box in your social studies classroom. The drive will run until May 13th.

 

Happy Earth Week IHS! Remember to recycle your plastic cups in the bins marked “CUPS ONLY”. Thanks for helping to keep IHS Green!

The Brain Team is hosting its annual spring Trivia Night fundraiser on Thursday, April 14 from 6:00 to 8:30 in the cafeteria. Ten dollars gets you dinner and treats, funky music, and as always, fun trivia. Come by yourself, or bring a team of up to five and try your best! There will be prizes for the winning teams! Talk to a Brain Team member, or go see Mr. Kirk in G102 for more information.

Step right up and step in time, IHS - Mary Poppins is coming to Kulp Auditorium!  Show times are tonight and Saturday, at 7 pm, and Sunday at 2 pm. Tickets will be sold during lunch periods today - $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors. This show is sure to be spectacular, sensational, and supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Slam poetry is LIT! Wanna try it? IHS will be hosting a Student Slam on April 19th (Poetry Month) in the Black Box Theater. All students in grades 9-12 are invited to participate for the pride, the glory, and the chance to win prizes! Show off your skills: Sign-up in room F4 or in the HS library.

Hey IHS! The Senior Class will be hosting a handball tournament in the new gym on Saturday, April 2nd, from 1-3 pm. Sign your team of 7 up for $10 per team this week during all lunch periods in the cafeteria to participate! There will be prizes.

 

Did you know homeless shelters most needed items are pads and tampons? Donate these products this week in the main office, library, or teacher’s classroom. The class that donates the most pads and tampons will win a prize!
