It’s never too late to learn about gender equality! Come to an open event about how feminism benefits men TODAY from 3:45 to 4:30 in H-Courtyard! All are encouraged to attend to learn about the ways that gender equality improves the lives of everyone. Snacks will be abundant and FREE!

 

Cabaret Night is coming! Join us for a night of music, dance, and comedy featuring the talents of IHS students and teachers. Cabaret Night is this Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. Tickets are $5 and will be on sale during lunch periods and at the door. Refreshments included!

 

The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is now available for Juniors in the college and career center and online.  The application is due Monday, March 14th, 2016.

 

Come to The Tattler writers' meeting today after school in the library and talk about the upcoming April Fools issue.

 

Canada Club will be selling hot chocolate and brownies after school today, outside Activities!

This is a reminder to sophomores who have registered to take the PSAT 10. The exam will be given tomorrow, Friday, February 26 at 9:00 a.m. sharp in the new gym. Be sure to arrive 15-20 minutes early to sign in. There will be no backpacks, food, drinks, cell phones or other electronic devices allowed in the testing room. Remember to bring some #2 leaded pencils, erasers and a calculator.

The Carol Jean Buckley Scholarship Application for seniors interested in and planning to pursue higher education in fine, performing, visual, theatrical, or written arts is now available and due April 8th. All applicants must complete and submit the senior award application in order to be considered for this award.

 

There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing girls lacrosse today, afterschool in the multi-purpose room. Come meet the new coaches, get some information and get excited for the season!

Sophomores who registered to take the PSAT 10 in February, your PSAT guides and instruction sheets are now available to be picked up. Please see Ms. Sullivan in the main office.

February is Black History Month and in the IHS library there are books about Black history, bulletin boards full of pictures and even book reviews. Students and staff are invited to write a book review about Black history or something that encourages diversity, understanding, and peace in America. All reviews are subject to approval for appropriateness and should be left with any library staffer.

Model UN will be hosting Dr. Alexandru Balas from SUNY Cortland today in H-Courtyard from 3:45 to 4:30. Come, listen to, and discuss the issues surrounding the Syrian Civil War, the refugee crisis and ISIS.
