B Day



Tomorrow the Varsity Volleyball team will be playing in Sectional pool play at Corning High School. Any students who would like to come cheer must come get a permission form today from G208 to ride the fan bus. The bus will leave after school on Thursday. Come watch some intense volleyball and cheer for our IHS girls!



The 2018 Winter Sports Speaker William Harris will be giving a presentation for student-athletes, families, coaches, & community members on Thursday, November 1st from 5:30-6:15 PM in the Multipurpose Room, Q-108.  Ithaca High School's Athletic Trainer, Ainsley Lovejoy will be giving a presentation focused on nutrition following Mr. Harris.



The Chromebook club will be meeting tomorrow after school in the library. We will be moving forward with a new project, and there will be refreshments.



The deadline for registering for the ski club bus is December 18th.  Stop by G116 to ask about our scholarship program.  Sign up as soon as possible with Mr. Heurich, Mr. Krywe, or Mr. Breigle.  All members are eligible to win free swag during the season!



Come listen to Professor Jeff Niederdeppe from Cornell's Department of Communication talk about the relationship between mass media and climate change next Monday, November 5th, in H-104.

SUNY Brockport will be hosting Instant Decision Day on Thursday, November 8th, in room J37 from 12:30pm-3:30pm.  Please see Mr. Barnes in the College and Career Office to sign up.

The Wrestling Head Coach will be holding a pre-season meeting TODAY at 3:45 PM, directly after school in Bliss Gym. Any one interested in learning more about the sport or considering trying out for the team is encouraged to attend.



International Club meets today after school in K-19.



The Tattler will be having its writers' meeting today after school in H-Courtyard. Join us to discuss article ideas and sign up to write for December. There will be food!



Dance club will be meeting on Tuesdays during zero period in the multipurpose room!

Come see the Ithaca High School Music Department in their first concert of the year, Collage V: Passport, TONIGHT at 7:30pm in Kulp Auditorium. The concert will feature over 300 band, choir, and orchestra students presenting music from around the world. The concert is free and open to the public - we hope to see you there!



Indoor Track and Field will have their preseason meeting TODAY at 4:00 in the Multipurpose room.

Today is a very special day in chemistry classes around the country, because it is the day that we celebrate that famous chemistry concept known as THE MOLE! A mole is an ENORMOUS number, specifically equal to 6.02 x 10 to the 23rd, which is why it is celebrated from 6:02 am until 6:02 pm on the 23rd day of the 10th month of the year! To celebrate this SUPREMELY IMPORTANT CONCEPT, a dozen moles have been hidden around the school today. If you find one, follow the directions on it to claim your prize! Happy Mole Day!

TSA is an organization of hundreds of thousands of students competing in over 30 unique competitions. Join our local chapter and travel to Washington DC to compete in the national competition. Learn skills like programming, computer aided design, graphic design, music production, and problem solving from our veterans. Come to our first meeting after school TODAY in E-16!



Seniors:  Our financial aid presentation will be held TONIGHT from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in Kulp Auditorium. Our presenter, from Student Financial services at Ithaca College will be providing financial aid information to seniors and their families. Please do not miss out on this important event.

IHS's school newspaper, The Tattler, is bringing back the monthly Haiku contest! Email your entries to literary@ihstattler.com by midnight tonight to have your haiku included in the November issue.

Students: to park in the parking lot, you need to have a parking permit. Those are available for $5 in Ms. Gray’s office, G-105. All funds go to the Senior Class and will help keep prices down for Prom, Trip, and other events.

Be a part of a student committee that advises Arts and Athletics on eliminating barriers for participation and increasing student engagement.  An information session will be held tomorrow at 3:35 in Kulp Lounge. Pizza and refreshments will be served.  Make your voice heard.



IHS's school newspaper, The Tattler, is bringing back the monthly Haiku contest! Email your entries to literary@ihstattler.com by midnight tomorrow to have your haiku included in the November issue.



TSA is an organization of hundreds of thousands of students competing in over 30 unique competitions. Join our local chapter and travel to Washington DC to compete in the national competition. Learn skills like programming, computer aided design, graphic design, music production, and problem solving from our veterans. Come to our first meeting on October 15 in E-16!



Ski club forms for the 2018-2019 season are with Mr. Heurich in the library, Mr. Krywe and Mr, Breigle in E-16, or Mr. Noyes.  Stop by G116 to ask about our scholarship program. Early registration expires October 15th.  Please sign up asap or else you will be missing the chance to win free swag!

Seniors:  Our financial aid presentation will be held on Monday - October 15th - from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in York Lecture Hall. Our presenter, from Student Financial services at Ithaca College will be providing financial aid information to seniors and their families. Please do not miss out on this important event. Hope to see you there.

Do you have an interest in helping make senior citizens feel beautiful and glamorous?  Do you love to do nails and make up?  If so, join us in Glamour Gals Club.  Our first meeting is Tuesday, October 16th at 3:45 in room G-201.

Seniors: Mr. Sandy Drumluk, Director of Admissions at Tompkins Cortland Community College, will be in H-Conference Room on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you are planning on applying to TC-3, ask your school counselor for a copy of your transcript and Mr. Drumluk will let you know if you have been accepted "on the spot." Students are welcome to drop in but appointments are recommended. See Jay Barnes in the main office to schedule a time to meet with Mr. Drumluk.

Attention SENIORS: If you are a student-athlete who is signing a National Letter of Intent to play Division 1, 2, 3 or Junior College athletics, please sign up for the Fall Signing Ceremony.  The sign up sheets can be found in the Athletics Office, in G207, or in Student Services. The Fall 2018 signing ceremony is Tuesday, November 27th. Please see Samantha Little or Stephanie Valletta if you have any questions.

B Day



Key Club will be hosting a donut bake sale today after school in front of activities!
