Seniors, we regret to inform you that Casino Night will not be happening tonight. We will keep you updated about this and other Senior events for the rest of the school year. 

The four Unified Basketball open gym sessions are canceled.

Attention Seniors:  The Latino Civic Association is once again offering a scholarship.  To be eligible you must be a Latino or Latina senior in good academic standing, who demonstrates community service involvement and who is graduating from any Tompkins County school district at the end of the 2020 school year. The deadline is May 1st.

Attention Ithaca High School students! Andrew Campana, a Professor at Cornell University will be presenting to Japanese Language & Culture Club at H-201 today after school. He received a PhD from Harvard University and is an expert on East Asia. In his presentation, Dr. Campana will be discussing the contemporary culture of Japan. Don't miss this opportunity, come to H-201 this Thursday!

Code Red Robotics is gearing up for an exciting weekend of competition at the Rochester Institute of Technology to compete against nearly 60 teams from Mexico, Brazil and all over the northeastern USA. GOOOOO CODE RED!!!

Seniors! Our next lanyard event, Casino Night, is tomorrow from 7 to 10 PM in the IHS Cafeteria. Dress up, play classic casino games, earn fake money, and win awesome prizes! Don't forget to bring your lanyard for entry! Lanyards WILL be on sale at the door, or you can see Mr. Mellander today if you need to purchase one.

Seniors! Don’t forget that today’s the first day to order your cap, gown, and tassel for Graduation! If you are ordering a new set, or any portion of a new set, please go to H Courtyard during lunch periods. If you are interested in reserving a free set to borrow, please fill out a form outside of Mr. Mellander’s office. See Mr. Mellander if you have any questions.

Hey IHS! SAGA's annual Drag Show is coming up, and we need your help! If you or someone you know would be interested in performing, choreographing, doing makeup and costumes or otherwise helping with the show, SAGA will be hosting an informational meeting today after school in room G209.

Open gyms for Unified Sports will be held on March 18th, 19th, 23rd, and 24th from 3:40-4:40 PM in Q Gym.  Students should only attend if they are interested in playing on the Unified Sports Basketball team this spring. In order to participate on the team students must be kind, patient, a good fit for the program and Unified Sports goals, and must be in good academic standing.  Please let Ms. Valletta know if you have any questions

Come support the Senior Class at the Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at Applebee's tomorrow from 8-10am! Tickets are available at the door for $8 each. Remember that every ticket sold helps reduce prices for Senior Prom, Trip, and other events!

Listen up, IHS! Tonight, the IHS Choirs will present their 2020 Theme Concert, ROAD TRIP! This concert is free, open to the public, and will feature over 140 students singing some new, favorite, and familiar road trip tunes. So grab your friends, pack up the car, and join us tonight at 7pm in Kulp Auditorium. See you there!

Senior skating night will be held at the Cass Park ice rink from 7-10pm tonight! This event will be free for all Seniors with lanyards, and rental skates will be available at no charge for students who need them. Come have fun skating with friends!

Hey IHS! Captains’ Council is hosting their first annual spikeball tournament! This tournament will be held on Saturday, February 15th at 1 pm in Bliss gym. The cost will be $5 for a partnership, and $3 for an individual. There will be prizes! Check your email for a Google form to sign up. We hope to see you there!

Valentine’s Day is coming soon! Show your appreciation, buy a carnation! They are on sale today through Valentine’s day during your lunch periods in the cafeteria for one dollar. But for only one extra dollar, you can get your carnations delivered to your loved ones!

Are you interested in law? Do you want to become a better and more confident public speaker? If so, come to Mock Trial Tuesdays after school in Ms. Deverin’s room: K19! Anyone who is interested is encouraged to come. No experience is necessary! 

Hey 9th graders! There’s going to be a Movie Night on Friday, February 14th!  We’ll be showing Spider-Man Homecoming. So come to the library at 6:30 on Friday! And make sure to bring money for popcorn and soda!

B Day


Ben Ortiz aka DJ ha-MEEN curator of the Cornell Hip Hop Archives, will provide an anatomy of the turntable and mixer and show students how to DJ on vinyl TODAY, February 6 during 7th and 8th periods in Kulp Auditorium. He will discuss the history and legacy of black artists who originated the art form and then let students practice their skills! Records will be provided.  Don't miss this exciting event! Students with study or free periods may attend.  Teachers, sign up your class!

Hey IHS! Key Club is selling carnations starting today in the cafeteria during lunch periods for $1 pickup or $2 delivery! Support Key Club and send a sweet message to any of your friends or people you care about! The carnations will be available on Valentine’s Day!

Seniors, please see Mrs. Blake with a copy of your grades for second-semester senior privileges. 

There will be a JV and Varsity Softball Interest meeting at 3:45 tomorrow in Room H-112. Anyone interested or planning on playing softball this year should attend the meeting. 

Don't forget to get your tickets for Winter Formal, happening this Saturday at the Statler Hotel Terrace at 7 pm! Winter Formal is not only the biggest dance of the year, but it also has a very upscale flair, with high-end catering and photography, DJ, and atmosphere. This is THE dance to go to for anyone at IHS. Especially given the weather forecast for tomorrow, make sure to buy your tickets TODAY during lunch periods in the Cafeteria. There will be an open dance studio today with local choreographer Ms. Harmony Malone. Students interested in dancing with Ms. Harmony can inquire with their teachers to sign up. Open dance studios will be held TODAY during 5th and 6th periods. Only students signed up will be excused to attend.  Students with a free period, lunch or study hall during those periods may also attend.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! Are you interested in Tech? In TV Production you could work with audio, visuals and editing footage. Are you interested in Writing or the news? In TV Production you could write and edit scripts and search the news for stories you think we should do. Do you love being on camera? Come to TV Production to recite your lines with three cameras and teleprompters to help. If you want to be a writer, anchor, cameraman, or tech person, come to F-41 for TV Production on Mondays and Thursday. Email Mr.Shyne if you have questions. And remember- Mondays have snacks! 

There will be bowling practice for all unified bowlers at 4:00 today at the Bowl-O-Drome.  If you need transportation, get on the number 6 bus at Lake Street after school today.  This bus will take you to the Bowl-O-Drome.  See you after school!
