Today is Senior Night for Girls’ Tennis. Please come out at 4 pm to support our seniors!



Debate Club will have its first meeting in room G219 on Monday, October 1st. There will be food! This year the club will be coached by the Cornell Debate team and there is no experience required!



Ski club forms for the 2018-2019 season are with Mr. Heurich in the library, Mr. Krywe and Mr, Breigle in E-16, or Mr. Noyes.  Stop by G116 to ask about our scholarship program. Early registration expires October 15th.  Please sign up asap or else you will be missing the chance to win free swag!

Our presenter, from Student Financial services at Ithaca College will be providing financial aid information to seniors and their families. Please do not miss out on this important event. The Fall 2018 signing ceremony is Tuesday, November 27th. Please see Samantha Little or Stephanie Valletta if you have any questions.



Staff:  Please remember that you are not allowed to park in the small lot (near ITA building) unless you are in a designated spot with lines.  Emergency vehicles need to have access at all times.  If you are parked illegally, please move your car.

Chromebook Club is a volunteer group assisting the IT department at IHS. This group of students fixes the broken Chromebooks of other students. In the 3 years the club has existed, the club has fixed 227 Chromebooks, and has already fixed 21 this year. Stop by the library during any free period and talk to Ms Barr. No experience required. Our first meeting will be Wednesday October 3rd after school in the library.

The Yearbook is seeking new members to help create the 2019 edition of the IHS Annual. Please come by J-20 and speak to Ms Reitenbach or come to our meetings after school all Tuesdays in Library Lab 1. Looking for graphic designers, photographers, writers and staff to learn all aspects of putting together the Yearbook. No experience necessary.

Seniors: representatives from Cornell University Admission's Office will be presenting to seniors TODAY in  F-16 in the Library during the lunch periods about the do's and don'ts of writing a great college essay! If you have a class during the lunch period, you can get a pass from Ms. Sullivan in the College and Career Office.

Juniors and seniors: The deadline for returning your permission slips for the TC-3 College Fair on Tuesday, October 16th is TODAY.   Please pick up your permission slips in the Main Office.

Do you want to be a Student Council class representative? Student Council will hold 20-minute information sessions after school today, and zero period on Wednesday. Sessions will be held in Activities and are mandatory to attend if you want to be on your class ballot. Sessions will end before afternoon sports practices.



With the ever growing need for the resettlement of refugees, it has never been more important for Ithaca to be a welcoming host community. Help the cause by joining IHS Welcomes Refugees, which is meeting Tuesday in G204.

Today’s college visit is SUNY Delhi at 8:55.

Students who are interested in using the weight room this school year must attend a lift/safety orientation, which will be held after school in the weight room 3:30 to 4 pm today to October 5th. Students who do not come to an orientation will not be permitted access to the weight room after school. Please note the weight room will not be available for use for the general student body till after October 5th.

The IHS Finance and Entrepreneurship Club is looking for new members. Join a competitive club comprised of knowledgeable members who are happy to answer any of your questions related to financial markets or starting and managing an enterprise. There is no need to have any experience in these fields as it is inclusive of all members regardless of background. We meet Thursdays in room G208 with Ms.Kautz. Have any questions? Email Yann Sylvester, Darby Waller, or Jackson Brouwer.

All juniors are encouraged to take the exam.

Do you want to be a Student Council class representative? Student Council will hold 20-minute information sessions after school today and tomorrow, and zero period on Wednesday. Sessions will be held in York and are mandatory to attend if you want to be on your class ballot. Sessions will end before afternoon sports practices.



Tabletop Gaming Club meets on Monday afternoons in H113 from 3:32-4:30.  We play Dungeons and Dragons, Magic the Gathering, chess, and any other game you want to bring!

Hello students!  IHS has a Tiddlywinks club, and features a former world champion as advisor.  Come to H213 after school TODAY and see what it’s all about.  Learn to pot, squop, gromp, boondock, and try not to nurdle.  Much fun it is.  A cross between chess and brain surgery it has been called. 

Join Nunchucks club! We learn nunchucks routines and perform at major school events like pep rally, cabaret night, and field day! We meet TODAY after school in the dance studio located in the activities building.

Welcome to Day 2 of Spirit Week! Please help us capture students and staff dressed up for Spirit Week. PLEASE capture the images on your phone and e-mail to ithaca.yearbook@gmail.com. You can also go to the cafeteria during lunch periods to have your photo taken at the IHS School Spirit photo spot!

The Yearbook is seeking new members to help create the 2019 edition of the IHS Annual. Please come by J-20 and speak to Ms Reitenbach or come to our meetings after school TODAY  and all Tuesdays in Library Lab 1. Looking for graphic designers, photographers, writers and staff to learn all aspects of putting together the Yearbook. No experience necessary.
Auditions for the Fall Drama will be held today from 4 to 6:30 and tomorrow from 6 to 8:30.  You only need to attend one session. No preparation necessary, just bring your wonderful self!  Please sign up on the drama bulletin board outside of the Black Box theater.  See Ms.Tino for more info.

If you're in need of IHS apparel for Homecoming/Spirit Week it's not too late.  The School Store will be open in the cafeteria or on the quad at 3:45 after school this week through Thursday.  A few special 2018 Homecoming t-shirts are still in stock but there are a variety of other items to choose from.  Everything is selling fast so the sooner you get there the better!
Students who are interested in using the weight room this school year must attend a lift/safety orientation, which will be held after school in the weight room 3:30 to 4 pm today to October 5th. Students who do not come to an orientation will not be permitted access to the weight room after school. Please note the weight room will not be available for use for the general student body till after October 5th.

Hello students!  IHS has a Tiddlywinks club, and features a former world champion as advisor.  Come to H213 after school on most Wednesdays, starting this week, and see what it’s all about.  Learn to pot, squop, gromp, boondock, and try not to nurdle.  Much fun it is.  A cross between chess and brain surgery it has been called.  

Join Nunchucks club! We learn nunchucks routines and perform at major school events like pep rally, cabaret night, and field day! We meet on Wednesdays after school in the dance studio located in the activities building.

Mental Wellness Club is having their first meeting this Wednesday, 0 period, in room G107. It will be an informational and new member meeting and everyone is welcome. There will be snacks!

Link Crew will be having its first meeting on Thursday, September 20th after school in York Lecture Hall. Meeting starts promptly at 3:45. See you there!

All seniors interested in applying for NHS membership who are new entrants or who missed the May deadline for another legitimate reason will need to pick up the application form from Mrs. Cameron in the main office. The completed application is due back by Monday, September 24.

Attention Girls Varsity Ice Hockey players! We will be having a mandatory team informational meeting Tuesday September 25th at 7:30 pm in Activities. Please see Coach Norsen if you have any questions!

Juniors and seniors interested in attending the TC-3 College Fair on Tuesday, October 16th.   Please pick up your permission slips in the Main Office/College & Career.  The deadline for returning your permission slips is Wednesday, September 26th. The college fair will also have an evening session from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm for students wishing to attend with their families.  Ithaca High School will not provide transportation for the evening session.

The PSAT/NMSQT will be given to all juniors on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in the new gym.  There will be no charge for this exam and it is for juniors only.  Students must register for the exam in the College & Career Office between now and October 5th.  Students will be given practice materials and an informational sheet when they register. All juniors are encouraged to take the exam.
