Ithaca High School's annual Poetry Slam is tonight in the Black Box Theater! Please come support your friends and watch them speak memorably and powerfully about subjects or issues that are important to them!



Attention seniors! Cap and gown pick-up is TOMORROW! Pick up new caps, gowns, and tassels in H-Courtyard during lunch periods. If you ordered a borrowed cap and gown, please go to Mr. Mellander’s office in H-122. Don’t forget!



The first Unified Sports home game is this Thursday, May 2nd at 4:30 in Bliss Gym. The theme is Hawaiian so find your best Hawaiian shirt and grass skirt and head to the gym on Thursday! There will be a DJ, halftime show presented by our girls lacrosse team, and a great game between Ithaca and Lansing!



Attention all students: the yearbook is completed and will be here in a few weeks. The Yearbook team is seeking new members to begin to learn how the book is put together in hopes of putting together a great team to create the 2020 yearbook. Please join us in Library Lab 1 afterschool for a brief training and pizza!

Current Cornell students from Student Agencies Tutoring will be holding a college prep Q&A in the cafeteria during lunch today. Speak with them about standardized testing, college applications and any other college-related questions.  Stop by their table to ask your questions and get a free snack!



Have you ever painted with a robot? Sent a message with a microbit? Today, in the Library,  during all lunch periods, come play with these bits and bots, and learn more about classes that will grow your computer science skills for THIS fall that you still have time to sign up for! See you there!


In support of Denim Day (an annual event in honor of sexual assault awareness), there will be a fashion show tomorrow at the Argos Warehouse at 2:30PM, featuring original designs made entirely out of denim. There is free admission, but a suggested donation of a minimum $10. All proceeds from the event go to the local Advocacy Center, which provides a number of services for those affected by sexual assault and abuse in Tompkins County.

The Village at Ithaca and Cornell University's 'Students Onto Scholars' (SOS), will present 'Connecting College and High School Students for College Readiness' for all IHS students grade 9-12 after school on Wednesday April 10.  This event is also sponsored by Beauty of Color, the IHS African-Latino Club, IHS MBK Boyz 2 Men Group, IHS Student Services, IHS Link Leaders. 



The event will consist of a panel of college students who will share their college experiences with IHS students.  Panelists will then engage with students in a break out session that addresses a variety of college application topics, such as essay writing, financial aid, applying for scholarships, decision making on which college to apply, etc.  This year SOS produced a College Guide for High School Students which will be distributed to students at this program.  The event will take place in the IHS Cafeteria from 3:45-5.  Refreshments will be provided.

AP Exam Pre-Administration Sessions for filling out AP exam bubble sheets begin today.  If you're taking an AP exam in May go to York Lecture Hall during periods 1, 3, or 7, or after school today to fill out your bubble sheets.  You may also do so in York tomorrow during periods 4, 5, or 8.  There will more times available Thursday so listen for those announcements or ask your AP teachers.

Starting tomorrow AP Exam Pre-Administration Sessions begin in York Lecture Hall.  You may know it better as time to fill out the bubble sheets for your AP exams in May!  Go to York during periods 0, 1, 3, or 7, or after school tomorrow to fill out your bubble sheets.  Other times will be available this Wednesday and Thursday so listen for the announcements or ask your AP teachers.  You MUST attend one Pre-Administration Session prior to taking an AP exam!

Code Red Robotics will be hosting a Blood Drive tomorrow. During your lunch periods today, you can sign up. You must be at least 17 years old to donate to the general blood supply, or 16 years old with parental/guardian consent. Walk-ins are also welcome if space allows.

Tickets are now on sale in the IHS cafe for the Drama Club's presentation of RENT.  Performances are  April 12 and 13th at 7pm and April 14 at 2pm in KULP Auditorium. Student tickets are $8. Adult tickets are $12. A limited supply of five-dollar student rush tickets are on sale in the IHS cafe this week and next.  If you’re a high school student, stop by and purchase your $5 dollar ticket!



Ithaca High School's annual Poetry Slam will take place on Tuesday, April 30th, in the Black Box Theater. A variety of prizes will be awarded. Check your email or see Ms. Campbell for more information. Sign up online or in the High School Library!

On Friday, April 5th, Code Red Robotics will be hosting a Blood Drive. During your lunch periods this week, you can sign up. You must be at least 17 years old to donate to the general blood supply, or 16 years old with parental/guardian consent. Walk-ins are also welcome.



The Game Drive has been extended until this Wednesday. Be sure to bring games to the library in order to be entered in to win a gift card!  



Hey IHS! The Junior Class will be doing a Krispy Kreme Donut Fundraiser until

Wednesday, April 10th! Order forms will be in the main office and student services. Also, the junior who sells the most boxes will receive TWO free prom tickets, and anyone who sells at least ONE box is put into a raffle for a chance to win a $20 gift card of your choice! Happy selling!



This weekend, the Brain Team participated in two Quizbowl tournaments at Penn State University. Over these two competitions, Isaiah Gutman, Julian Perry, Kaelan Imani, and Vaynu Kadiyali won 22 out of 23 games played, taking home the 1st place trophy for both tournaments! Congratulations, team!
