Are you interested in virtual reality? Do you like games? Do you have no idea what virtual reality even is? Come to VR Day in the library today during lunch periods.

If you are IHS student planning to attend Prom, but who’s in need of a dress, there will be a Prom Dress Drive tomorrow from noon to 4 pm at Center Ithaca on the Commons. At the drive, you can pick up a dress at no cost at all! Check your ICSD email in the next few days for details.

The Game Drive has been extended until Wednesday, April 3rd. Be sure to bring games to the library in order to be entered in to win a gift card!  

Ithaca High School's annual Poetry Slam will take place on Tuesday, April 30th, in the Black Box Theater. A variety of prizes will be awarded. Check your e-mail or see Ms. Campbell for more information. Sign up online or in the High School Library!

Japanese Culture Club will be meeting every Thursday after school in room G209.  We will discuss the culture, language, media, customs, and history of Japan and watch Japanese movies!  Everyone is welcome, whether you have lived in Japan, visited or plan to visit, or just want to learn more about it! Congratulations to the IHS Technology Student Association, on a great showing at the Connecticut State TSA Conference this past weekend! They traveled to Hartford CT on Saturday for a one day event, competing against other schools in a wide variety of technology themed events.  

Highlights include:

·  IHS Prepared Presentation 1st and 3rd place

·  IHS Video Game Design 1st and 3rd place

·  IHS Extemporaneous Speech 1st

·  IHS Problem Solving 2nd place, tied for 3rd place

·  IHS 3D CAD Engineering 2nd and 3rd place

·  IHS Dragster second place

·  IHS Board Game Design 3rd place

·  IHS Children's Stories 3rd place

·  IHS 2D CAD Modeling 3rd place

Welcome to Social Justice Week! Remember to check your email for the schedule. Students and staff, drop by if you have lunch or a free period! Teachers, if you plan to bring your class, it’s really important that you sign up in advance to make sure we aren’t over capacity!

Hey IHS, want to help launch a new resource for students? Come to Library Lab 1 after school today to find out about the new IHS Community Closet. Snacks will be provided.

Attention all students going on the trip to Spain next February.  There will be a meeting after school today to choose club officers and plan our first fundraiser.  Please let Mrs. Miettunen know if you can't make it.  The trip is filling up, so if you are thinking of signing up, you need to see Mrs. Miettunen in K18 ASAP!

The last meeting for the trip to Paris is tomorrow at 6:30 pm in York. We will be finalizing last minute details. At least one parent/guardian and student must attend.  See you there!

1) Finger Lakes Runners Club Scholarship - FLRC must receive the application by April 12, 2019

2) Cayuga Medical Center Scholarship for students who want to pursue a career in healthcare - All material must be submitted to Brenda Powers by April 8.

Hey IHS, the Polar Plunge is this Saturday. We already know Ms. Gray is jumping in the lake and we are very close to raising enough money to have Dr. Brown take the plunge! The Latino Civic Association of Tompkins County is pleased to announce the CECILIA MONTANER-VARGAS AWARD, an opportunity for a Latina/o graduating high school senior in good academic standing, who demonstrates community service involvement.  The deadline for submission is May 1, 2019.

Hey IHS, do you want to give back to the community locally and globally AND get free food while at it? Come to Key Club, the IHS community service organization! Meetings are today and every other Tuesday in H206, Ms. Gefell’s room. Everyone is welcome- hope to see you there!

Are you interested in political and social issues? Do you want your voice to be heard? If so, come to Students For Change! Every Tuesday in H-218, Ms. Alexander’s room! There will be snacks.

The National French Contest Exam is being given today in K Building. Students have been given instructions by their teacher. A list of students taking this exam has been emailed to all staff. No announcements will be made today between periods 1-3, 4-5 and 7-8.
