Attention Ski Club members! Our make-up Ski Club day is today. Same time, same place!



Spring Sports start on Monday, March 4th.  If you are failing two courses, you will not be allowed to try-out. We will continue to have Athletic Study Hall tomorrow afternoon from 4 to 5 PM in York.



If you are interested in playing on the Unified Sports Basketball team this spring, please sign up outside of G207 or the Athletics Office in Q. We will have open gym time Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-4:30 in Q gym starting Tuesday the 5th.



Would you like to have a say in what shows are produced at IHS? To further student voice, we are forming a committee of students to select the plays and musicals at IHS for next year.  The committee selections will be voted on by the entire student body. If you’d like to serve on the show selection committee, contact Ms. Tino or Daphne Shululu or visit the table in the Cafeteria this week.



Seniors, please check your email from Mr. Noyes about the need to complete an award application to be eligible to receive money from senior awards. These applications are due TOMORROW and can be found in G-116 or in Mr. Trumble’s office.

The IHS Math Department is offering a one-semester new course called 'Math Principles of Robotics' next year. You will learn math, coding and computational thinking skills necessary for 21st century jobs. Talk to your school counselor for more information about this course.

The Latino Civic Association of Tompkins County is pleased to announce the Cecilia Montaner-Vargas Award, an opportunity for a Latina/o graduating high school senior in good academic standing who demonstrates community service involvement.  The deadline for submission is May 1.

Science Olympiad placed first at their regional competition this past Saturday! They have qualified for States! Congratulations to this outstanding achievement!



This Saturday, the IHS Brain Team played in a quizbowl tournament at Geneva High School. The Ithaca A team, featuring Isaiah Gutman, Julian Perry, Kaelan Imani, and Rohit Lal, won the tournament after going undefeated for nine rounds and setting a new national record for highest sustained average points per game over the course of the day. The Ithaca B Team, featuring Tony Yang, Alice Lee-Kleinberg, and Patrick Yuan, took 4th place. Both teams have qualified for national competitions in Atlanta and Washington, DC. Congratulations to all who played!

Attention seniors! Remember that Jostens will be outside the Cafeteria during lunch periods TODAY ONLY to take your cap and gown orders. If you are ordering a new set for yourself you won’t want to miss this opportunity. Use the order forms from the class meeting.

Students, the American Mathematics Competition will be held today during periods 1 and 2.  All students should report to York by the start of 1st period.  Please bring a pencil.

There will be a meeting for all students who are going on the Spain trip next year after school today in K18. If you are thinking of going and haven't signed up yet, you should attend this meeting because we will be going over the itinerary and fund-raising. Food will be served!!  The meeting should last 30-45 minutes.

Students, the American Mathematics Competition will be held tomorrow during periods 1 and 2.  All students should report to York by the start of 1st period.  Please bring a pencil.

There will be a meeting for all students who are going on the Spain trip next year after school tomorrow in K18. If you are thinking of going and haven't signed up yet, you should attend this meeting because we will be going over the itinerary and fund-raising. Food will be served!!  The meeting should last 30-45 minutes.

Sophomores planning on attending the BOCES Career and Tech Field trip on March 8th must have their permission forms turned in to Mr. Barnes in the College and Career office by Thursday, February 28th.  Late forms will not be accepted.



Attention Sophomores who have signed up for the PSAT-10 exams!  The PSAT-10 practice books are now available in the College and Career Office.



The Latino Civic Association of Tompkins County is pleased to announce the CECILIA MONTANER-VARGAS AWARD, an opportunity for a Latina/o graduating high school senior in good academic standing, who demonstrates community service involvement.  The deadline for submission is May 1, 2019.

Students who completed Driver Education may now pick up their Driver Education Certificate in the Principal's office.



The IHS Math Department is offering a new course 'Math Principles of Robotics' next year. This course is 1 semester long and you will get a half credit upon completion. Use any math concept to program a Lego Mindstorm robot and see if it works. You will learn math, coding and computational thinking skills necessary for 21st century jobs. Talk to your school counselor for more information about this course.

Are you interested in political and social issues? Do you want your voice to be heard? If so, come to Students For Change! Every Tuesday in H-218, Ms. Alexander’s room! There will be snacks.



Move and make music during lunch! Check out a demo session in the IHS cafe today and this Thursday with Nana Anim.  Starting February 12th Drums@Lunch will be offered every Tuesday 3rd and 4th period and every Thursday 5th and 6th period in room F34.  Students may join the sessions any time during their lunch hour or free period.  Contact Fe Nunn or Daphne Shululu for more information.
