A Day

Auditions for the student directed one acts will be Thursday from 6 to 8:00 pm and Friday from 4 to 6 pm in the Black Box theater.  You only need to come one day. Everyone is welcome!  Please see Mrs. Tino for more information.

The Unified Sports Club will meet Thursday, 11/15 at 3:45 PM in Room K-103. Please see Ms. Valletta if you have any questions.

This Friday, students will have the opportunity to vote on what musical will be produced at IHS in the spring.  Check out a link sent to your e-mail to learn more about the musicals up for consideration: Little Shop of Horrors or Rent (the school edition).  An electronic ballot will be sent to IHS students on November 16th.  Don't forget to vote!

Congratulations 9th Graders! You’ve succeeded in completing your first quarter at IHS! Link Crew will be hosting a cereal celebration from 8:00- 8:55 next Friday, 11/16, in Activities. So stop by for some yummy breakfast and a good time!

Have you watched an episode of Lake Street News in your email? Interested in how it is made? TV Production club is always accepting new members or people that would just like to pop in and see the movie magic. TV Production club meets every Monday and Thursday after school in F-41. See you there!

The PSAT-10 exam will be given to all interested sophomore students on Friday, March 1, 2019.   The fee to take the exam is $16.00 and students can register and pay for the exam with Mr. Barnes in the College and Career Office.  Checks should be made out to Ithaca High School.  The deadline to register is Friday, December 14, 2018.  Practice booklets will be given out well before the date of the exam.  If you expect to receive testing accommodations you must apply for these through College Board.

The deadline for registering for the ski club bus is December 18th.  Stop by G116 to ask about our scholarship program.  Sign up as soon as possible with Mr. Heurich, Mr. Krywe, or Mr. Breigle.  All members are eligible to win free swag during the season!

Hey, IHS! Have you ever wanted to learn to box? Well, now you have that opportunity with Ithaca High School’s upcoming Boxing Skills club! For more information, come to the organizational meeting TODAY from 4:00 to 4:30 in H116.

Japanese Culture Club will meet TODAY after-school in room G209.  We will be discussing the culture, language, and history of Japan, watching Japanese movies and discussing Japanese media and customs!  Everyone is welcome. Please see Ms. Wilcox in G209 with any questions!

Attention Senior Donut Lovers! This month is Friday Putt-putt Donuts month. Win a dozen donuts just by putting a golf ball! 8:00 to 8:30 in H-courtyard! Be there! Bring your Senior ID and get ready to eat!

This weekend, the LACS Shakespeare Company is putting on 'R + J', a production of Romeo and Juliet set in the modern day through an LGBTQ+ lens. Come support your fellow student actors! Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $5-10. Email lacshakespeare@gmail.com to reserve in advance, or buy at the door! The performances are Friday at 7:00pm, Saturday at 7:00pm, and Sunday at 2:00pm, at the LACS Blackbox Theater.

The Ithaca Police Department is teaming up with Team Red White and Blue to host the second annual Veterans Day 5K run/walk this Sunday, 11 November from 10:00-11:00 at Dewitt Park. This event is free to the public.

This month Professor of Molecular Biology and Genetics Siu Sylvia Lee and PhD candidate Eve Vavagiakis will discuss their research and paths to careers as women in Science.  Snacks will be provided.

Hey IHS, do you want to give back to the community locally and globally AND get free food while at it? Come to Key Club, the IHS community service organization! Meetings are every other Tuesday in H206, Ms. Gefell’s room. Everyone is welcome- hope to see you there!

Students: to park in the parking lot, you need to have a parking permit. Those are available for $5 in Ms. Gray’s office, G-105. All funds go to the Senior Class and will help keep prices down for Prom, Trip, and other events.

Come listen to Professor Jeff Niederdeppe from Cornell's Department of Communication talk about the relationship between mass media and climate change TODAY after school in H-104.
