Hey IHS! Come to Brain Team's Fall Trivia Night TONIGHT! In teams of up to six people, answer fun trivia questions and get a chance to win prizes. Entry is ten dollars per person, which comes with unlimited pizza and snacks. The event starts at 6:00 pm tonight in the IHS cafeteria. Bring your friends!

IHS students and staff; if you are interested in singing the National Anthem at any of our home athletic events please stop by the Athletic Office (Q115) to sign up.



The Ithaca City School District is proud to be awarding the NYS Seal of Biliteracy for the first time this year to eligible seniors.  If you are proficient in two or more languages, then please come to the NYS Seal of Biliteracy Family Information Night on Tuesday, December 4th at 7pm in Activities to learn more about this prestigious award.



Write for the Tattler’s annual literary issue! The Tattler is accepting poetry, photography, short fiction and graphic art submissions, and the best works in each category will receive prizes! Send submissions to editor@ihstattler.com by midnight on Thursday, December 6th to have your work featured in the issue.

Attention IHS students. You all are encouraged to attend the 2018 Equity Report Roll-out. The Equity Report Card monitors district progress towards achieving equity in twelve key areas of student achievement and engagement. This is an opportunity for you to be heard! Attending the 2018 Equity Report Roll-out as students offers you an opportunity to lend your voice to the discussion via asking questions, providing feedback, and ultimately, taking ownership in the education of yourself and others. The Equity Report Card Roll-out for Students will take place on Thursday, December 6 at 3:45 in the IHS Cafeteria. Refreshments will be provided.

Attention IHS staff members interested in Lime Bike for Wellness. You are invited to attend a session on Monday December 3rd, from 4:00-5:30 pm in Activities where you will receive $10 worth of rides and a free t-shirt. Please sign up on My Learning Plan if you are interested.

If you are taking Spanish and are interested in going to Spain next year, stop by K18 today for information.

Results for the IHS musical are in.  Rent, School Edition, received the most votes at 233. Little Shop received 223 votes. Thank you to all the students who voted! There are many ways to be involved onstage, backstage, and in the pit. We hope you'll join us. Audition workshops and info sessions will be held in early January.

Attention Seniors: Tomorrow Lifetouch will be in the lobby of Kulp Auditorium from 8:30-3:00 for any senior who would like to have their portrait taken for the Yearbook. Students should obtain a pass during a free period on Tuesday. If they do not have a free period they can request a pass from their teacher or Associate Principal. These portrait sittings are free and the image will be forwarded to the Yearbook.

The Fall 2018 signing ceremony is Tuesday, November 27th. The deadline to sign up is Nov. 26.

Due to school cancellation last Friday, the vote for the IHS musical has been extended through today.  Electronic ballots have been sent to all IHS students.  Results will be announced tomorrow. Don't forget to vote today!



Auditions for the student directed one acts will be after school today, Monday, in the Black Box theater.  If you want to audition and cannot come after school, please let Mrs Tino or one of the student directors know what time you will arrive. Everyone is welcome!

Hey IHS-- Come join us at Undivided for our Thanksgiving Party after school, today, in K102. There will be lots of food, games, and time to hang out with friends. We hope to see you there!

Hey Senior Class! Our Senior Bowling night is TONIGHT from 7 to 9 PM at Bowl-O-Drome. This is a lanyard event, meaning free admission for any seniors with lanyards. Check your emails for how to purchase or replace your lanyards!



What's up IHS! Make sure to pay Mr. Mellander TODAY to reserve your team’s spot in the Annual Handball Tournament. The event is TOMORROW at 1 pm. Please check email for the sign-up. Remember that concessions will be available and prizes will be awarded for the best dressed team! Stop by Mr. Mellander’s office with any questions.



Calling all students: Does history matter in our community? What stories matter to you? What stories have been hidden away, forgotten, or are not being told? Join The History Center for an afternoon of conversation and fun activities to explore how we can make these stories visible! This youth event is TODAY from 5 to 6:30pm at The History Center in downtown Ithaca. It's free and there will be food. For more information, see Mr. Innes.



The PSAT-10 exam will be given to all interested sophomore students on Friday, March 1, 2019.   The fee to take the exam is $16.00 and students can register and pay for the exam with Mr. Barnes in the College and Career Office.  Checks should be made out to Ithaca High School.  The deadline to register is Friday, December 14.  Practice booklets will be given out well before the date of the exam.  If you expect to receive testing accommodations you must apply for these through the College Board.

Today’s college visit is University of Tampa, happening right now in the Main Office.



Auditions for the student directed one acts will be TODAY from 6 to 8:00 pm and TOMORROW from 4 to 6 pm in the Black Box theater.  You only need to come one day. Everyone is welcome!  Please see Mrs. Tino for more information.

The Unified Sports Club will meet TODAY at 3:45 PM in Room K-103. Please see Ms. Valletta if you have any questions.
