Now is the perfect time to join Book Club! We are choosing our next read on Thursday, January 5th. Come to Mrs. Mellander’s room (G213) for books, banter, and bites! Snacks provided.

 

Ithaca High School apparel makes a great holiday gift!  This week the School Store is selling hoodies for just $20 and long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirts are on sale too!  The School Store is open from 11:30 to 12:30 in the cafeteria every day.

 

Would you like to build a hovercraft, electric car, or robotic arm? Would you like to learn about the human body or invasive species? Then Science Olympiad is the place for you. We are looking for students interested in building machines, competing in lab events and so much more! Science Olympiad meets Mondays after school in E-31and all are invited to join! Come and have fun!

Don't wait, send us photos NOW to ithaca.yearbook@gmail.com" for a chance to win a free yearbook! We need photos of Freshman and Sophomores and want EVERYONE in the book so help us make sure we have a good photo of you and your friends by sending us one.

Support Student Council by paying one dollar to play the jelly-bean guessing game in the cafeteria during lunch periods 3-5 today. The closest guesser will receive all the jelly beans and a hoodie or t-shirt.

The food drives ends today. Drop off any non-perishable items in boxes in the cafeteria, H-courtyard, activities or the library. Help out our community this holiday season.

 

Come join us today for a Conversation with a Scientist.  Joshua Chappie from the department of molecular medicine at the Vet school at Cornell will share his personal journey in scientific research and his experiences using x-ray crystallography and cryo--electon microscopy to answer fundamental questions in biology at the atomic level.  The talk is today,  from 4:30-5:30 pm in _____. There will be snacks.  Everyone is welcome.

Attention Ski Club: There is a mandatory meeting today in G-116 right after school.  Be there!  This year ski club members are automatically entered in a chance to win a $50 gift card to Greek Peak.  For those of you interested, we need 20 more students to fill our second ski club bus and discard the wait-list. 

Hey, hey, hey, IHS! Do you want to learn to harness the inner energy of the earth? Then come to H-courtyard today after school. There will be an exciting talk from a representative of HeatSmart, a Geothermal expert, and plenty of snacks. See you there!

Come join us Tuesday in H courtyard for the first Conversations with a Scientist talk.  The speaker is Joshua Chappie from the department of molecular medicine at the Vet school at Cornell. The Chappie lab utilizes a combination of structural biology, biochemistry, and cell biology to dissect the mechanisms of complex molecular machines. The talk is Tuesday, Dec.  20 from 4:30-5:30 pm in H courtyard. There will be snacks.  Everyone is welcome.

Hey sophomore class, do you want to buy class t-shirts? We’ll be selling them for $12, and they’ll be on sale at the school store, or you can buy them from any of your class officers. All proceeds will go towards paying for future events.
