B Day
Hey
IHS, Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s not too late to buy a carnation for someone
you care about! Stop by the cafeteria during your lunch periods today to buy a
carnation for only 1 dollar!
Drums@Lunch
will be offered today during 5th & 6th period in room F34. Students may
join the sessions during their lunch or free period. Contact Fee Nunn or Daphne
Shululu for more information.
For
those interested in trying out for the Boy's Varsity Tennis Team there will be
an after school meeting today from 4 to 4:30 in the IHS Activities Room with Head
Coach Michael Bryant.
Don't
have time for orchestra in your schedule but still want to play your
instrument? Come to orchestra room today after school to find the new club
'alternative orchestra'! We're starting with Beatles and Panic at the Disco. Bring
your string instrument. There will be snacks.
Attention
Seniors: Please submit your "Now and Then" photos of you and your
friends now and a number of years ago. Sibling photos are also needed. Please
send to ithaca.yearbook@gmail.com ASAP! We need to build these
pages over the February break and would love you to be on them!
Attention
students and staff! GIAC is holding the Black History Month Talent Show here at
IHS tomorrow. The show is free to attend and will feature a variety of
performances from our own African-Latino Club and many community members. The
show runs from 6 to 8 pm in Kulp Auditorium.
Would
you like to have a say in what shows are produced at IHS? To further student
voice, we are forming a committee of students to select the plays and musicals
at IHS for next year. The committee selections will be voted on by the
entire student body. Would you like to serve on the show selection committee?
Find out how to serve by contacting Ms. Tino or Daphne Shululu. Or, keep your
eye out for tabling information in the IHS cafeteria this week. This
opportunity is open to all students!
Attention Seniors: Please
read your email from Mr. Noyes about the need to complete an award application
to be eligible to receive money from senior awards. Every year there is a
ceremony for seniors who have received an award. Awards come from many sources,
such as nominations by IHS teachers or an outside organization, in the memory
of loved ones, or in honor of an IHS graduating class. The application is in
G116 or J15 and is due March 1st - don't wait to get this done!
‘The
question of whether machines can think is about as interesting as the question
of whether submarines can swim.’ Want to teach computers how to think? Talk
with your counselor and enroll in Math Principles of Robotics class next year.
Hey IHS do you sing, dance,
tell jokes, or have other talents? The 2019 IHS Cabaret is right around the
corner and we're looking for acts to perform! Auditions will take place on
February 26th and 27th from 3:45-4:30 in A143. Sign-up is posted outside the
orchestra room (A143). All are welcome to audition! - If you have questions
please see Mr. Makin.
