 Hey IHS! The haiku contest is back and accepting submissions for the December issue of the Tattler. If you want to submit a short haiku, which has 5-7-5 form, email literary@ihstattler.com. I can't wait to see your submissions.

Picture retakes are in! 9th and 10th graders can pick them up with Ms.Smith in G-211 and 11/12th graders go to Mrs. Blake in G-109A.

Make sure to stop by Chipotle tomorrow from 5 to 9 pm to support the Junior Class! One third of the proceeds will go directly to us. Simply tell the cashier you are supporting the Class of 2021. We appreciate all of your help!

Did you know that pads and tampons are the most commonly requested items in homeless shelters? This month SWIS is hosting the annual tampon drive. Bring in unopened packages of pads and tampons and drop them off in your teacher's rooms. Donations will go to women in need!

Please join the IHS football family in congratulating seniors Payton Waight, Spencer Whitmore, and Tyler Driscoll on being selected as Section 4 All-Stars. Sophomores Jack Yaggie and Chase Sposito were honorable mention picks. Along with Tyler and Payton, Liam Just was selected to play in the Ernie Davis Thanksgiving Senior game. The game will be played Tuesday November 26th at UE. Please show your support with a high five to these young men.

Attention staff and students, please join us in celebrating our college-bound student athletes on Wednesday, November 20th at 6 PM in the multi-purpose room. Come support Unified Bowling, a mixed competition team for students with and without disabilities. Y.A.C., The Youth Activation Committee, raises awareness for and supports Unified Sports! We are looking for YAC students to cheer on our Unified Sports teams this year. YAC will also help build and choose this year’s Bowling Team. Our next meeting is today after school in H-Courtyard. Everyone is welcome!  Please join us and bring friends. If you cannot attend please email Linda Alzarif, Matthew Fellman, or Stephanie Valletta.

Are you interested in mathematics, economics, or computer science? Do you have theories about how the world works and want to test those using a model? Finance Club will be hosting Jason Meunzen, a former proprietary trader at KKR and Goldman Sachs, to speak about the field of quantitative finance. Quantitative finance combines economics, mathematics, and computer science to create models and recognize patterns that humans won't pick up on. If this sounds interesting to you, come to our meeting today after school.

Make sure to stop by Chipotle this Saturday, November 16th from 5 to 9 pm to support the Junior Class! 1/3 of the proceeds will go directly to us. Simply tell the cashier you are supporting the Class of 2021. We appreciate all of your help!

Today is the last day to sign up for Key Club’s Blood Drive, which is taking place tomorrow in Activities. Did you know that 38,000 blood donations are needed every day? By donating blood, you can have the satisfaction of fulfilling this need and helping save lives! Sign up today in the cafeteria during lunch periods. Once again, today is the last day to sign up. You must be 16 with a signed parent consent form from the office, or 17 and up. All donors must weigh at least 110 Lbs. It only takes 15 minutes to save a life!

Hey IHS, would you like to learn about cybersecurity? Do you want to learn to use the tools hackers use? Join Ethical Hacking Club Tuesdays after school in G102 where we will teach YOU how hackers can get your information, and what you can do to keep your information secure!

Hey IHS! The Jewish Student Union is meeting after school today in Ms. Mellanders room, K-107. If you're interested in Jewish culture, joining our strong community, or just making some friends, come give us a visit! All religious and cultural backgrounds are welcome.

Are you interested in law? Do you want to become a better and more confident public speaker? If so, come to mock trial Tuesday’s after school in Ms. Deverin’s room: K19! Anyone who is interested is encouraged to come, no experience necessary!

Burritos and Burrito bowls. Pico de gallo. Guacamole. Craving some Chipotle right now? If so, you're in luck. The senior class is hosting a Chipotle fundraiser this Saturday from 4-8 pm. All you have to do is head over to Chipotle, tell the cashier you're supporting the IHS Senior Class of 2020, or show the cashier a picture of the many chipotle posters hung up around the school, and 33% of your order will go to support your seniors - what a perfect excuse to order extra guac. Bring your friends and see you there!

Hey IHS! Gather your money because habitat for humanity is having a bake sale after school today. We will be selling baked goods such as brownies and cookies outside in front of the bus loop. Funds raised will be donated to Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital.
Stop by after school to make a difference AND walk away with a fudgy brownie. 

The first blood drive of the year is next Wednesday, November 13th, hosted by Key Club. If you donate blood this year, you will get to track where it goes on the Red Cross app! James Harrison was a man in Australia who was able to save over 2 million babies by donating his rare blood! This could be you if you participate in Key Club’s blood drive on November 13th with the Red Cross. You can sign up to donate in the Cafeteria during all lunch periods today, tomorrow, and next Tuesday. You must be 16 with a signed parent consent form from the office, or 17 and up. All donors must be at least 110 lbs. It will only take 15 minutes to save a life!

Tickets are now on sale for the Fall Drama Production: The Jury, our version of Twelve Angry Men, a dynamic story of bias and bravery.  Shows are tomorrow and Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday at 2pm.  Get your tickets in the IHS cafeteria during lunch periods this week or at the door.

The first meeting for the Social Justice Week planning committee will be today after school in the H-Courtyard conference room. If you are interested in planning Social Justice Week for 2020 please join us! Everyone is welcome, and we would love to have you!  

This afternoon, the finance club will be hosting Roger Simpson, recently retired former chief engineer at Borg Warner. He will be covering the basics of investment, specifically goal-oriented investing such as investing in companies working to fight climate change. It will be a great opportunity for students looking to learn how to become financially secure. The presentation will be held in G208, from 3:30 to 4:30. Anyone is welcome!

Are you interested in explosions, chemical experiments, or learning about reactions? Join Chemistry Club this afternoon in H113, Mr. Turner’s room.

Come learn how scientists solve problems, analyze data, and draw graphics with the Scientific Computing club, today after school in Ms. Lynn's room E25.  No prior coding experience necessary. 

Are you interested in biology? Do you want to do fun research and enter in internationally recognized competitions? Come to Ms. Jewett's room in H114 Thursdays after school to learn more about how you can be part of something great!

Sign up during lunch periods starting tomorrow in the cafeteria! You must be 16 with a signed parent consent form from the office, or 17 and up. All donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. YOUR blood can save lives!

For any students interested in trying out for JV or Varsity winter sports, you must be in good academic standing. Grades will be monitored and if a student has a 65 or below in two or more classes on November 8th, they will not be permitted to try out. If you need academic support, please speak to your teachers or school counselor.
