Day 2
Hey
IHS, the Super Smash Brothers
Club will be hosting their annual Smash
Bros. Tournament after school
today. Come compete in both our Smash 4 and Melee tournaments.
$5 will cover admission, food, drinks,
and the prizes for the winners. We will be in H-courtyard starting at 4:00 today.
Are you interested in languages and how they work?
There is a national competition, open to all secondary-school students, hosted
locally at Cornell. It's a pen-and-paper test about language questions,
called the North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad. Two
professors of linguistics from Cornell are visiting IHS to talk about the exam
and demonstrate the type of questions asked. Join us in K 17 on Tuesday, January 17th at 3:45 for an informational
session about linguistics in general, computational linguistics in particular,
and the exam. There will be snacks.
Attention all Freshmen:
Cocoa and Cram will be taking
place Thursday January 18th, from 3:45 to 6:00 in IHS
cafeteria. Come enjoy a nice hot cocoa and study for midterms with the
help of teachers and upper classman.
The Winter Formal,
IHS's last all-school dance for the year, will take place on Saturday,
February 10 at the Museum of the Earth. Mark your calendars!
