Day 1

 

Attention Juniors: Please stop by the main office to see Ms. Sullivan to sign up for the PSAT that will be given on Wednesday, October 11. There will be no charge to take the exam and you will receive a practice booklet and an informational sheet when you register. This exam is for Juniors only!

Juniors and Seniors interested in attending the TC3 College Fair on Tuesday, October 17 should pick up permission slips in the Main Office or Student Services. The deadline for returning your permission slips is October 2. The College Fair will also have an evening session from 6-8 p.m. for students wishing to attend with their parents. IHS will not provide transportation for the evening session.

SENIORS:  Need a little help or some pointers for writing your college essay? Ray Kim & Tammy Shapiro, Cornell Admissions Officers, will be here on Thursday, September 28^th to present a college essay writing workshop.   The sessions will be held during lunch periods. See Ms. Sullivan in the College & Career Office to register.  Please register as soon as possible as the time slots fill up fast.

 

Our Financial Aid Night presentation will be taking place Monday, October 23^rd from 6-7:30 p.m. in York Lecture Hall. Our presenter will be Mrs. Barbie Bargher, Assistant Director in the Office of Student Financial Services from Ithaca College. We hope that this evening will help you and your parents understand the financial aid process as you continue to plan for the costs of higher education.

 

Gaming club meets after school today in H-113.  We play Magic the Gathering and other tabletop games, and a Dungeons and Dragons game is starting soon.  Come play games and have fun!

 

Code Red Robotics is having their second new member meeting after-school on Tuesday, in E1. Any person considering joining the team, or anyone who just want to learn more, should attend this meeting. All are welcome!

 

Undivided will meet today after school as Nika Pikulik, a current junior, comes to share about her family's work in missions, specifically rescuing women from dangerous situations.

 

The Sexuality and Gender Alliance will be meeting today after school in G-201. Everyone is welcome to come and discuss issues facing the LGBTQ community. There will be food.
