Day 4
Make their day, let them know they’re the bae, buy a carnation
today. Carnations will be $1.00 for
pick-up today in the cafeteria.
February is Black History
Month and in the IHS library there are books about Black history, bulletin
boards full of pictures and even book reviews. Students and staff are invited
to write a book review about Black history or something that encourages
diversity, understanding, and peace in America. All reviews are subject to approval for appropriateness and
should be left with any library staffer.
Attention Seniors: The 2016 IHS Senior Awards
application and Cayuga Medical Scholarship application are now in the College
and Career Center and online at the IHS website. Please check the website
regularly as we will be adding more awards and descriptions over time. If
you have any questions, see Mr. Noyes in G116. The Senior Award
Application deadline is March 25th.
Sophomores who registered to take the PSAT 10 in
February, your PSAT guides and instruction sheets are now available to be
picked up. Please see Ms. Sullivan in the main office.
Juniors who took the PSAT in October, you can
pick up your scores in the main office with Ms. Sullivan.
Varsity track and field workouts have started at
Barton Hall from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Hey club members! Student council is taking
requests for extra funding for your clubs. Receiving funds is as easy as taking
a trip right to the main office! So make that trip, fill out one of our forms,
and make sure to bring it to Mr. Mellander in Activities.
Model UN will be hosting Dr. Alexandru Balas from
SUNY Cortland today in H-Courtyard from 3:45 to 4:30. Come, listen to, and
discuss the issues surrounding the Syrian Civil War, the refugee crisis and
ISIS.
Seniors - senior class
t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, and water bottles are on sale during lunch
periods in H-Courtyard. The sale will continue through this Thursday,
so come buy some and support your class!
Come support the National
Honor Society's Event, Pages Through the Ages, at a Barnes and Noble fundraiser
all day Saturday February 20th. Stop by and purchase a book, magazine, DVD, or a
coffee from Starbucks and a percentage of the proceeds will go to buying books
for incoming kindergarteners!
Canada Club meets after
school today in G-108B.
Music Production Club
meets today in E-45.
TSA meets in E-4 today.
Improv Club meets in a new
location today – The Black Box Theatre.
Easter and Fun Club meets
in K-102.
